little things of left alone do the build up.

The other day my Companion and I were riding our bikes down a road to go see a person that we talked to the other day when we passed this tree at First I thought "Why in world would anyone put Bricks there of all places?" as I looked closer I could see that the Bricks had been there for some time now and it would not be to much longer before the tree grew enough to cover the bricks. I thought of how when the person that put the bricks in the tree they fit in there loosely and could easily be talked out but now many years latter they can not be taken out except cutting deep into the tree to remove the once little seemingly little thing that  could be so easily fixed.
Then I thought of all the times that i have let little things that i let build up inside of me and after a while from the out side you could not see the anger and the ill feelings but with in they were still there. It was not easy for me to get those feelings out because they had been covered up and had become over grown but though it was painful to let it all go the feeling of peace that came after letting it all go. well i can't put to words how much better it felt and feel now. it was through the atonement that i was healed spiritually. the process was so worth it.
The same thing applies when we sin and don't repent (change) those sins get grown over and we come to get use to them and we forget about them for the most part but we still feel the pain from time to time. but we tend to bury it deeper and allow it to get grown over. then comes the storm or trial in our lives which causes us to break then we change and it is most painful. but through the atonement of Jesus Christ as we repent and change our selves we become clean. I love this saying by Elder Holland given in April 1, 2012

"I do not know who in this vast audience today may need to hear the message of forgiveness inherent in this parable, but however late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines.
Whether you are not yet of our faith or were with us once and have not remained, there is nothing in either case that you have done that cannot be undone. There is no problem which you cannot overcome. There is no dream that in the unfolding of time and eternity cannot yet be realized. Even if you feel you are the lost and last laborer of the eleventh hour, the Lord of the vineyard still stands beckoning. “Come boldly [to] the throne of grace,”3 and fall at the feet of the Holy One of Israel. Come and feast “without money and without price”4 at the table of the Lord."
" It is never too late so long as the Master of the vineyard says there is time. Please listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit telling you right now, this very moment, that you should accept the atoning gift of the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoy the fellowship of His labor. Don’t delay. It’s getting late."

It is so well said in the last paragraph lets not delay in repenting of the things that we need to so that we can stand before the bar of Christ when the day comes. I know that letting the little things that build up hurts us in the long run. but through the atonement we can be forgiven and our burdens become lighter.
